Dr. Lee W. Lerner is a computer engineer with research interests in configurable and trustworthy embedded computing. He earned a Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Virginia Tech as well as M.S and B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University.  He is currently Research Faculty at the Georgia Tech Research Institute where some of his current projects include low-level modeling and security analysis of programmable logic devices and developing autonomic root-of-trust hardware for embedded systems. Before joining Georgia Tech, he was a technical lead on the DARPA Trusted Integrated Circuits program and was Principal Investigator on a NASA funded project to mitigate radiation-induced upsets in space-based microelectronics. He also previously held a position with the NASA Kennedy Space Center.
